Mission Mobilizer

Job Description

A Mission Mobilizer is a person who has a passion for missions and agrees to promote Mission Expo within the Mobilizer’s home church and, and if he or she chooses, help promote Mission Expo with other churches in his or her area.  The Mobilizer is invited to join the Mission Expo planning team for monthly meetings to provide input from their church and give suggestions for the conference.

The Mission Mobilizer in the Mobilizer’s home church

A Mission Mobilizer is encouraged to start working with church leadership in his or her home church by interviewing the Pastor or Mission Pastor to ascertain how the church can best be helped by and involved in Mission Expo. (Church Interview Form, available on this website.)

Mission Mobilizers should then work closely with their church leaders – The senior pastor, mission pastor and mission committee to:

   ▪    Provide input from the church into Mission Expo program planning.  Churches are encouraged let Mission Expo know how their church can best be helped in its mission program and how they might like to participate in Mission Expo in some way.  (See Church Interview Form.)   In this way, Mission Expo can become a church’s own conference with expanded resources but without the enormous amount of planning and expense that would be inherent in developing a church’s own mission conference.

   ▪    Keep the church calendar clear of conflicting events.

   ▪    Plan promotion of Mission Expo developing ways to encourage individuals in the church to attend the conference.  Along with ideas from the leadership, this can include announcements from the pulpit, in Sunday School classes and in the bulletin including the bulletin insert when available.

   ▪    Gather prayer support for Mission Expo and missions in general.  This can include the development of a prayer group, distribution of the Mission Expo Prayer Updates and other prayer material on missions.

   ▪    Organize carpool or van transportation to the conference.

   ▪    Recruit some from your congregation to volunteer at the conference.  This would include distributing lists of opportunities available for serving (see website) and contacting the Mission Expo Volunteer Coordinator Matt, 909-596-2648 or E-Mail voluteers@missionexposure.org of those interested.

   ▪    Mission Mobilizers are encourage to gather other volunteers to help them with the above tasks and in reaching other churches if they choose to do so.

Mission Mobilizers in other churches

Mission Mobilizers are also encouraged to help promote Mission Expo to other churches in their area.

Starting with evangelical churches you know or may have some contact with, the Mission Mobilizer is encouraged to contact the Pastor or Mission Pastor of a nearby church and ask for an appointment to interview him or her.  Using the Church Interview Form, the Mobilizer can find out the church’s needs and wants in the Mission Expo conference.  If the pastor is interested, the Mobilizer should ask him or her who might be a mission passionate person who might be willing to act as a Mission Mobilizer in that church.  Then the pastor and/or the visiting Mission Mobilizer can contact that person and encourage him or her to help, giving that person all the information and material they need to be the Mission Mobilizer in their church. (including info on the website particularly this page, prayer updates, bulletin inserts, etc.)  For help in this process, contact Dicksie, (323) 727-7869 or E-Mail churchmobilizer@missionexposurer.org

Lists of churches and contact information for your area are available if you wish to help out further.  Contact Dicksie, (323) 727-7869 or E-Mail churchmobilizer@missionexposurer.org
